Statement by Giorgio Pagano, Secretary of the Esperanto Radical Association.
For many years now I’ve been denouncing the folly of the 21st Century, a phenomenon that has become one of a religious nature, that is, the most horrific linguistic colonization that has occured since the ancient Roman one which, through the use of Latin, killed all the other languages of its time. A religion which has only one ammendment: There will be no other Goddess other than the English one. The material evidence comes from Banka, a village in the Lakhimpur Kheri district in India, where they acknowledge the "deity" and the religion of the English language, which will have its first temple by the end of this month.
The temple will have a ground floor made of black granite, and on the inside it will have an informatic idol, personified in the form of a computer, donning a hat and holding a pen and a copy of the Indian Constitution whilst inscriptions of idiomatic English phrases are envisioned around it as well as symbols and scientific formulae. A coorperate association will be responsible for its construction.
The "priests" of the temple will teach English to the "Impalpable" Dalit which will submit to a new form of opression, that is, the linguistic one: then again, "dalit" does mean "the opressed."
